Impending Storm - Acoustic Ambient Guitarscape
I recently recorded this Acoustic Ambient Guitarscape and was listening to it while on a walk near my house. Here I discovered these beautiful poppyflowers while the clouds were announcing a looming storm.
Kurma
This one is called "Kurma" and is dedicated to Chiripa, Suerte, and Fortuna, the three friendly tortoises that used to be our roommates in Algiers. The tortoise has it´s own place in Indian mythology. It is considered the second Avatar of Lord Vishnu. This videos combines Rag Kaushi Kanada played on the sitar with the results of my new very dangerous work as a wildlife photographer.
Rāg Charukeshi
Opening concert of "EineWeltMusik" an initiative of world-musicians and concert organizers from Hesse/Germany. It took place at Hermann-Levy-Saal on May, 4th 2024. We play a short, 20 minutes set in Rag Charukeshi. The alap is followed by a composition in slow tempo (vilambit tintal) and a composition in fast tempo (fast tintal). On tabla you hear Luigi Vargiu!
Cyprus Tour 2024
In 2024 I was invited to perform and lecture @windcraftmusic Festival in Cyprus. Elli Michael, the organizer of that festival, introduced me to Ravi Saundankar, a fantastic tabla player. That festival invitation eventually turned into a small Cyprus tour with concerts in Paphos, Nicosia and Katydata. This video is a short summary of that tour.
